Score Needed Formula
Final Grade = Current Grade × (1 − Exam Weight) + Exam Score × Exam Weight
Required Exam Score = (Target Grade − Current Grade × (1 − Exam Weight)) ÷ Exam Weight
Example: Target 80%, Current 82%, Exam Weight 25%
= (80 − 82 × 0.75) ÷ 0.25 = (80 − 61.5) ÷ 0.25 = 18.5 ÷ 0.25 = 74%

Practical Example
Situation: You're sitting at 82% going into finals. Your final exam is worth 25%. You want to keep at least a B- (80%).
Required exam score = (80 − 82 × 0.75) ÷ 0.25 = 74%
